Thinking outside dog.
Today we built Scarlet a rustic dog agility course. Scarlet Cinder is a red heeler and a good friend of Scherzo’s. I’ve seen her jump 4 feet in the air, bouncing straight up and down because she wanted out of her kennel.
Well, when we first got here I threw Scarlet’s ball for her because that and frisbee are her favorite pasttimes. Unfortunatley, I had to stop throwing her ball when she re-injured her toe and started hopping around on three legs.
So today we built a state of that art, lo-tech rustic dog agility course. We used a ramp from when the cabin had no stairs, a platform that is the bed when the tipi is up, weave logs, a tunnel and a jump at the end. It was really fun and Scarlet liked it so much.
The weave logs were the hardest for both of them but at the end Scherzo really was getting it. I had her target my hand and led her through. We made the tunnel out of chairs with a tarp over it and twice scherzo jumped on top instead of running through. And I think she liked it! at the end when we were cleaning up she ran on top and laid down chewing her ball in there. She is the funniest dog ever.
wait this isn’t what I’m supposed to do?
