Thinking outside dog.
As of tonight scherzo has passed her level three on the road behaviors! These are all the level one behaviors but in a new and strange place. She did some good zen and distance behaviors around lightposts while offleash and on main street in Bozeman. We also got her to target the crosswalk button. She never pushed it hard enough but it was still cute.
Go to Mat, Attack (not part of levels), Treat Eating (not part of levels)…
Well after talking about it for the last couple days and deciding first that I probably shouldn’t have to work on my birthday and then, after conceding to work, that I shouldn’t have to get up early on my birthday, Randy woke me up a 7 AM to help him make a shed for the horse, Ruby to have her baby in. Which mostly meant standing around to hand him things occasionally.
But then I got off at noon to have lunch with Dad, Joy, Sarah and my Grand-pa who is 91. That was pretty great, made some cash and got a nice book, Sharp Teeth, an epic free verse poem about werewolves.
We managed to have a pretty good, though awkward time at dinner, (awkward cuz the other kid who was helping build the shed hung out). Here’s hoping tomorrow will be a better day, my first of my 25th year.
Last night we slept near a park, and we really slept in. I woke up all warm, with scherzo snuggled in my arms snoring. When she sleeps in human orientation its so nice, but when she sleep horizontal on the bed and then lays on top of the my blankets it’s hell! She pushes me off the sleeping pad, pulls off my blankets, and though she’s 1/3rd my size she takes up 1/2 the bed.
